Why Wheat-Free Williams
As a Nutritionist I’ve always been very aware of what foods I feed myself and my family. The Standard American Diet, also known as the “SAD” diet in the nutrition world, is full of overly processed foods lacking nutritional value. This is what I try to avoid. I’ve always had a passion for nutrition, food and leading a healthy lifestyle. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen creating well balanced meals and homemade snacks that my kids and family love. I have always loved sharing my passion for healthy delicious food with everyone around me. To get them away from the “SAD” diet and instead encourage eating foods that lead to good health.
In late 2018 my son was diagnosed with celiac disease and my kitchen became a gluten-free kitchen. At that point I came to the realization of how wheat-dominated our food world was – including my own. I started baking everything from sweets and dessert foods to savory dishes, all gluten-free. I have recreated all our favorite foods to be gluten-free and nutritious without sacrificing taste! For snacks we enjoy healthy homemade granola bars and protein-packed cookies that are low in sugar and full of satisfying nutrients that supply energy. A lot of the foods we eat are naturally gluten-free.
As I’ve learned a lot about gluten sensitivity and celiac disease, I’m realizing how many people are affected by gluten. My goal is to make delicious and nutritious gluten-free eating easier and more accessible to everyone. I help people that are new to a gluten-free diet adjust with ease and I help those already well versed come up with new and exciting recipes that are delicious and nutritious.
